Argelès Markets

Argelès-Village Market

The main village market is held every Wednesday and Saturday morning in the historic centre of Argelès-Village, around the Place de la République and surrounding streets. This market is especially popular with locals and has a more traditional feel, with stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, charcuterie, olives, honey, wine, and regional Catalan specialities. You'll also find flowers, household goods, clothing, and handmade crafts. It’s a great place to soak up the local atmosphere, chat with vendors and pick up ingredients for a picnic or meal.

Argelès-sur-Mer Market

The Argelès-sur-Mer markets are among the most well-known in the region, offering a mix of local produce, artisan goods, clothing, street food and souvenirs. In contrast, the Argelès-Plage market caters more to holidaymakers and runs from mid-June to mid-September, typically on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings along the promenade.

It's larger and more geared towards tourists, with stalls selling beachwear, jewelry, souvenirs, summer clothes, and street food like churros, crêpes and roast chicken. The beach market can get quite crowded in summer, but it's colourful and lively and you’re only a short stroll from the sea.

There’s also an evening night market (marché nocturne) during the peak summer season, often daily, with stalls set up along the seafront promenade from around 7 pm. This market is more focused on art, crafts and family-friendly entertainment including music, games, and street performers

Beyond these, Argelès also hosts seasonal or themed markets throughout the year including Christmas markets, artisan fairs and local producer markets. If you're visiting in July or August, there’s often a farmers' market (marché des producteurs) highlighting organic and locally-sourced products.
